LifeWatch ERIC BEeS Conference

Call for abstracts! The LifeWatch ERIC "BEeS" Biodiversity & Ecosystem eScience Conference, on the theme of "Threats and challenges to biodiversity and ecosystem conservation from an eScience perspective", will be happening this year. It will take place in Seville from 22–24 May, to mark UN Biodiversity Day, and include an excursion to the Doñana national park! Registration and abstract submission are open, with seven different sessions to choose from. Submission deadline: 30 April.

The new PERMAGOV project will support the improvement of EU marine governance performance in selected seas and national waters.

An all-women expedition studying marine ecosystems took place this winter north of the Arctic Circle, with support from LifeWatch Belgium!

Institutional Bulletin

A declaration of intent has been signed by the Minister for Environment, Mar Menor, Universities and Research, with LifeWatch ERIC under the framework of the JRU LW.ES-Node LW.ES, regarding joint projects on the Mar Menor, Region of Murcia and Mediterranean Ecosystems.

The President of Andalusia invited LifeWatch ERIC to the regional government office, commending its role in the Green Revolution.

LifeWatch Bulgaria welcomed EU Commissioner Mariya Gabriel to the Agricultural University-Plovdiv for a meeting on innovation.

The mayor of Seville visited LifeWatch ERIC to offer support for its upcoming events on biodiversity and expansion in Seville.

LifeWatch ERIC was at Transfiere 2023 to network with stakeholders and hold a session on digitalisation, SDGs and blue growth.
